Out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, 1,000 miles from L.A and 2,000 miles from Japan…American farmers grow coffee on 4 of the 8 Hawaiian Islands…and they’ve been doing so for over 200 years!  Kona coffee grows on the Big Island of Hawaii with it’s unique climate of seasonal rainfall and sunny blue skies.  What really creates the key ingredients for these coffee trees and beans, is the high elevation growing anywhere from 700 ot 3,000 feet up on the slopes of two volcanoes, Mauna Loa and Hualalai.  Add the high elevation to the unique mineral-rich volcanic soil…and you have magically distinct coffee that is one of a kind in its superiority.  A coffee that is unequivocally right in itself – mellow, smooth, yet rich, with plenty of body. There’s no bite or bitterness, just deep aromatic coffee that at times is enhanced with natural notes of chocolate or fine red wine.

This is a coffee unique in flavor, high in demand… and relatively scarce in supply!  Coffee, brought to Kona in 1828, was originally grown on large plantations, but now grows on 600 small, three to eight acre farms The Kona coffee belt is an area that is roughly only one mile wide by thirty miles long.  Kona coffee undergoes a stringent system that classifies the beans according to size, weight and number of defects, which is then certified by the State of Hawaii. The meticulous attention to detail, dedication, and pride of the Kona coffee farmer, ensures that you are purchasing the worlds finest coffee when you sip your cup of 100% Kona.Depositphotos_18871377_xs

If you are going to pay for Kona coffee, and you are ready to take your coffee drinking experience to the next level…be sure it is truly KONA coffee that you are purchasing, and then look for the percentage of coffee originating from Kona in each particular blend (this will be on the label).

Now maybe you can understand why Kona coffee is so highly priced and should be savored each and every time you breath in its exquisite aromas, allow it’s rich coffee beans and hazelnuts near espresso in a short glass cupand silky chocolate flavor to wash over your palate…and we recommend doing this with your eyes closed, smile on your face, ocean breeze in your hair and the warmth of sun on your skin.   Just close your eyes and you can be in your vision of Hawaii no matter where you are in the world.  Coffee is a lifestyle choice, and so is your imagination when you take a moment to relax and enjoy it!
